Tin - Electrolytic & Immersion
|
Tin is a widely used coating due to it’s many versatile properties and applications. Tin is used mainly for it’s electrical, solderable, ductile, and lubricious properties. Another popular use is food contact applications because of its non-toxic qualities. Plated tin coatings are non-toxic, ductile, corrosion resistant, and non-tarnishing.

The appearance of tin plating can range from a matte finish to bright. Tin deposits can also be used as a low cost decorative finish for applications that do not have hardness requirements. Tin plating on Aluminum is a unique process that allows the lightweight and low cost of aluminum to be used in applications where the corrosion resistance and electrical properties of more expensive materials are required. These properties are achieved when the Aluminum base metal is coated with tin plating.
